The weather is as varied as the terrain. In one three day period I went from 28 degrees to 104 degrees! In some of the mountains they receive over 500 inches of snow in the winter. In the summer, parts of the state can reach temperatures well over 100°F! Spring and fall bring every type of weather imaginable. Best advice? Be prepared for anything! Parks and Recreation Areas
Bryce Canyon and Zion are both parks that are well worth a visit. Bryce Canyon National Park was created by erosion that has shaped colorful Claron limestones, sandstones, and mudstones into thousands of spires, fins, pinnacles, and mazes. Collectively called "hoodoos," these colorful formations form horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters along the eastern edge of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in Southern Utah. Click on Brice Canyon for travel guides, brochures, and money savers to help you plan your visit. Canyonlands National Park Most visits to Canyonlands involve camping along the trails, roads and rivers found here. Zion National Park - Zion is an ancient Hebrew word meaning a place of refuge or sanctuary. Protected within the park's 229 square miles is a dramatic landscape of sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs. Zion is located at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and Mojave Desert provinces. This unique geography and the variety of life zones within the park make Zion significant as a place of unusual plant and animal diversity. If you are in one of the cities that has a Chuck-A-Rama, give them a try. The food is well presented, and is as good as it looks. There will be something for every taste on the buffet. Click on http://www.chuck-a-rama.com/info.html for other locations and a look at their menu. Normal hours are: Serving lunch Monday thru Saturday 11-4.
