Arches
National Park
Arches National Park
preserves over two thousand natural sandstone arches,
including the world-famous Delicate Arch, in addition to a variety of unique
geological resources and formations. In some areas, faulting has exposed
millions of years of geologic history. The extraordinary features of the park,
including balanced rocks, fins and pinnacles, are highlighted by a striking
environment of contrasting colors, landforms and textures. Click on

Bryce Canyon
National Park
Bryce Canyon National Park was created by erosion that has shaped
colorful Claron limestones, sandstones, and mudstones into thousands of spires,
fins, pinnacles, and mazes. Collectively called "hoodoos," these
colorful formations form horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters along the eastern edge
of the Paunsaugunt Plateau in Southern Utah. Click on

Canyonlands
National Park
Canyonlands National Park preserves a colorful
landscape eroded into countless canyons, mesas and buttes by the Colorado River
and its tributaries. The Colorado and Green rivers divide the park into four
districts: the Island in the Sky, the Needles, the Maze and the rivers
themselves where you can enjoy some wonderful and exciting rafting.
Most visits to Canyonlands involve camping along the trails,
roads and rivers found here.

Vernal
Uintah Arts Council - The Uintah
Arts Council is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation created to aid and
promote the performing arts, the visual arts and the literary arts of
northeastern Utah, namely, for the city of Vernal and surrounding towns. Our
main goal is to provide opportunities for local folks to enjoy the arts without
traveling long distances or spending lots of money. We support the performing
arts first of all by running our "Outlaw
Trail Theater"
in the summer at the Western Park Amphitheater. These community theater
productions have been, for the most part, produced, directed, choreographed,
composed and performed by local, very talented people. We also produce a yearly
Concert Series
which bring some of the very best regional
performers to our area. Celtic, Dixieland jazz, big band, folk, symphonic, opera
and many other styles of music have graced our stage . . . along with ballet,
clogging, jazz, ballroom and folk dancing from all around the world. Uintah Arts
Council, P.O. Box 1417, Vernal, UT 84078. 1-888-240-2080.
