Mail Boat Hydro Jets - EXPERIENCE
THE WILDLIFE, SCENERY AND HISTORY OF THE ROGUE RIVER CANYON. Today, the original
Mail Boats still deliver the U.S. Mail to the remote village of Agness, just as
they have for over one hundred years, since 1895. Our mail boats are
consistently judged to be one of the very best attractions in the entire
Northwest. FEDERALLY DESIGNATED AS A "WILD & SCENIC RIVER" Oregon's famed Rogue
River is born as a gushing stream high in the Cascade Range, 215 miles from the
sea. It comes bubbling from massive, icy Boundry Springs in the Northwest corner
of Crater Lake National Park, at the foot of Mount Mazama, the extinct volcano
that holds Crater Lake. Fed by Mazama Creek, Cascade Creek, National Creek, and
numerous other streams and springs, the Rogue quickly gathers size as it dashes
and tumbles south down the slopes of the Cascades. Reservations are highly
recommended for all of our trips. Post Office Box 1165, Gold Beach, Oregon

Cape Foulweather
| Lookout Observatory & Gift
Shop - I am not big on shopping, but this is a must stop for a gift
shop. The shop is one of the oldest historical landmarks along the Oregon
Coast. It is located on top of a promontory of land that was discovered and
named in 1778 by the famous British navigator Captain James Cook. The
Look-out is perched 500 feet above the ocean, and crashing surf, sea birds
on rocks, sea lions in the sun and whales are just a few of the special
sights that can be enjoyed from our windows. The Lookout Gift Shop has a
large oil painting of Captain Cooks ship Resolution
adorning it's fireplace, a reminder of the rough conditions the Captain and
his crew faced as they discovered North America. Built in 1937, The Lookout
has been a tourist and local destination view-point for thousands of
worldwide visitors a year.
The Lookout Observatory & Gift Shop is
located on Highway 101 3 miles South of Depoe Bay at Cape Foulweather, or 9
miles North of Newport at milepost 131.5. PO Box 248, Depoe Bay, OR
