Boardman
The following information is provided by the city of Boardman
Boardman is a rapidly growing community in northeastern Oregon along the banks
of the beautiful Columbia River. Primarily an agricultural community, Boardman
is a major hub for transportation of manufactured goods. Our city is located
along Interstate 84 at exits 164 and 165. Boardman was homesteaded in 1903, by
its namesake, Samuel Herbert Boardman. Sam Boardman was the first Superintendent
of the Oregon State Parks System, as well as the creator of the "rest stop"
after he began planting trees to make little parks where travelers could stop
and rest in the shade along our country's first highway. Soon the very first
rest stop building will be placed in a Boardman mini park area just off the
Interstate for all to appreciate. Come and visit Boardman for hunting, fishing,
various water sports, and unique views of the Columbia River along our paved
walking trails. We are sure you will want to come back again and again.

Abbey
Road
Farm - Located in the
rolling hills of
Yamhill
County
in
Carlton
, about a 35 mile drive from
Portland
, Abbey Road Farm Bed & Breakfast is in the very heart of
Oregon
's Wine Country. The
location lets guests enjoy the natural beauty
of the valley. All of the rooms have similar amenities with slightly
different décor and visual perspectives. Two of them (LaMancha
and Alpine) face out toward the
north valley which includes our cherry orchard. The Nubian Suite is in the center silo and enjoys commanding views of
the vineyard and our neighbor’s beautiful red barn set against a backdrop of
the ridge that belongs to the Trappist Abbey. Finally, our Toggenberg
and Saanen suites overlook the
English
Garden
and Judi’s beloved flower and vegetable gardens.
The B & B is located on an 82 acre working farm and is the perfect
location for a family getaway where both parents and children can experience a
real farm. Working on the
farm and the "real farm experience" is something that visitors will
remember for the rest of their lives. Check
ahead and see how you can participate with tasks in the garden, the orchards and
managing animal related chores. Let us know if you're willing to spend a few
hours weeding, stacking hay, mucking stalls or whatever as we are only too happy
to accommodate! And, as
it is in the middle of
Yamhill
County
's wine country, mom and dad have their choice of several great wineries.

Cape Foulweather
| Lookout Observatory & Gift
Shop - I am not big on shopping, but this is a must stop for a gift
shop. The shop is one of the oldest historical landmarks along the Oregon
Coast. It is located on top of a promontory of land that was discovered and
named in 1778 by the famous British navigator Captain James Cook. The
Look-out is perched 500 feet above the ocean, and crashing surf, sea birds
on rocks, sea lions in the sun and whales are just a few of the special
sights that can be enjoyed from our windows. The Lookout Gift Shop has a
large oil painting of Captain Cooks ship Resolution
adorning it's fireplace, a reminder of the rough conditions the Captain and
his crew faced as they discovered North America. Built in 1937, The Lookout
has been a tourist and local destination view-point for thousands of
worldwide visitors a year.
The Lookout Observatory & Gift Shop is
located on Highway 101 3 miles South of Depoe Bay at Cape Foulweather, or 9
miles North of Newport at milepost 131.5. PO Box 248, Depoe Bay, OR

Mail Boat Hydro Jets - EXPERIENCE
THE WILDLIFE, SCENERY AND HISTORY OF THE ROGUE RIVER CANYON. Today, the original
Mail Boats still deliver the U.S. Mail to the remote village of Agness, just as
they have for over one hundred years, since 1895. Our mail boats are
consistently judged to be one of the very best attractions in the entire
Northwest. FEDERALLY DESIGNATED AS A "WILD & SCENIC RIVER" Oregon's famed Rogue
River is born as a gushing stream high in the Cascade Range, 215 miles from the
sea. It comes bubbling from massive, icy Boundry Springs in the Northwest corner
of Crater Lake National Park, at the foot of Mount Mazama, the extinct volcano
that holds Crater Lake. Fed by Mazama Creek, Cascade Creek, National Creek, and
numerous other streams and springs, the Rogue quickly gathers size as it dashes
and tumbles south down the slopes of the Cascades. Reservations are highly
recommended for all of our trips. Post Office Box 1165, Gold Beach, Oregon
