By Rail
Unlike almost all of Europe, getting around by rail in the United
States is not very easy. There are only a few routes, one basic service
(Amtrak), and not much in the way of scheduled service. Many major cities
in the Unitd States may have only one or two trains a day. In any event, here is
where you'll find information to help you research your trip, find the best
fare, book your tickets:

Hamptons Connection Tours
offers some great tours that are geared for singles and adults. The tour company
is owned and operated by Elise Goodheart, a New York City transplant who moved
full-time to the Hamptons 15 years ago. Leaving a career in public relations
and marketing in New York City, Goodheart ran a well respected Fine Arts and
Events Planning company in Sag Harbor. It is with her extensive knowledge of
all the best this area has to offer that she has created all-inclusive tour
packages that provides not only a window into how the other half lives in the
“happening Hamptons,” but allows her clientele to turn this famously beautiful
resort into their very own playground and sanctuary.
For additional information about
these tours, or to book a tour, click on
Getting Away Accommodations Information and Reservations. NOTE:
As this reservation form is primarily for hotels and other accommodations, just
type "Hamptons Connection Tours" in the space for the name of the
hotel would normally go, and Hamptons for the city and New York for the state

Dining Suggestions for New York
Queens - Recommendation
from a regular visitor of Getting Away sent to us via email. "Dear
Jim, Astoria and Long Island City has so many great places to dine, however a
new favorite of mine Ischia di Saporo. It is in a warehouse section of
Queens, little known to most folks. It is lovely dining and a small market as
well. The family imports all products from Ischia and creates delicious dishes indigenous
to this part of Italy. Located on 56th St. and 37th Ave., Telephone #
718-446-1500. You must make reservations because it's very small. Enjoy...
Judi.".
