Gallery of Fine Art For nearly six decades, Ansel Adams photographed the grandeur and majesty of the American landscape. The works he created are icons of American art. In them, Adams captured the sublime magnificence of nature combining both his passion for photography and the preservation of America’s natural wonders. Ansel Adams has been called “America’s Photographer”. Born in San Francisco in 1902 he lived his entire life in California. It was on a hike in Yosemite in 1927 that Adams would first develop the unique photographic style that would bring him international recognition and acclaim and launch his career as one of the most celebrated American artists of the twentieth century. The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art proudly presents Ansel Adams: America featuring nearly fifty classic images and rarely seen archival material that includes letters, personal photographs, and the early camera Adams used to create his legendary photographs.
