City and Destination Information
The city of Peru is located along highway 251, on the banks of the Illinois River, a couple of miles southwest of the I-39 and I-80 junction. The city is about 70 miles south of Rockford, 60 miles north of Normal and 60 miles west of Joliet. Attractions in the area include a wide array of outdoor recreation activities in Matthiesen State Park and Starved Rock State Park. Hotels and motels in Peru are located within 3 miles of downtown and the Illinois Valley Regional Airport.
