Singer House

Your travel source with a personal touch!

The Singer House was built in Lumpkin in 1838 by the Singers soon after their arrival in Lumpkin from Germany as newlyweds.

the cellar, which is currently being restored, is an interesting feature of the house.

I was able to visit the Singer House over the Christmas holidays and able to see a tree trimmed as it would have been in 1850. During the Christmas season, they have regular tree lighting ceremonies where you can see just how your tree might have looked over 100 years ago.

The Singer House is one of three buildings on Forsyth Street that were build by the Singer Family. They were all built in the town of Lumpkin and moved here from their original locations in town.
