McDonald House

Your travel source with a personal touch!

The house that Scotsman Edward McDonald built was actually a small dwelling in Cuthbert, Georgia. A few years after he built the house, he added to the house the facade of which you see today.

As you walk through the house, be sure to notice the hallway that goes to the right and left from the center and you can see the outside walls and windows of the original structure.

This is the view of the McDonald house from the right side. At the rear of the house is the kitchen house you purchase the gingerbread.

You can also see the garden area that is at the side of the house.

The interior of the house has been painstakingly restored to as it might have been in 1850. The two parlors at the front of the house, one for the ladies and the other for the gentlemen, is filled with Empire furniture that was typical of the period.

I especially liked the lovely dining room.
