Return to Westville

Randle-Morton Store

Your travel source with a personal touch!

The Randle-Morton Store was built sometime before 1850 in Webster County. The building was donated to Westville in 1970 by the Hollomon family. This is where you purchase your admission ticket and Westville Script.

Inside of the old general store you will find many items that have been produced by the costumed interpreters of Westville. However, as you will not want to carry these around with you while you walk through the town, it is best to purchase them on your way out.

There is an extensive display of hand-thrown pottery lining one wall of the store. These very practical and useful items make a great souvenir of your visit to Westville. And, the small profit from the items sold at the store go to keeping this museum open to everyone

From the front porch of the store you get a nice view of the garden area and the Singer Gates which lead you into the town proper.

While you are on the porch, take a look at the nail heads in the door and the window shutters. They were placed there to prevent thieves from sawing through them to gain entrance to the store. As you can see by the latch on the door, security in 1850 was not what it is today.
