The City of Panama City Beach and Bay County are certainly one of "The World's Most Beautiful Beaches"... with a style all their own. White sandy beaches, tropical emerald-green water and a year-round moderate climate make a tempting location for millions of visitors around the nation and around the world. Many visitors come here on vacation first and then don't want to leave. There are over 16 miles of beach in the City with an additional 11 miles of beach in the County that are all on the Gulf of Mexico and St. Andrew Bay.
There are three state parks ranked among the nation's top 20 beaches. St. Andrews Park encompasses 1,063 acres of beaches, dunes, pine flatwoods, salt- and freshwater marshes. Camping and picnic facilities are abundant. Shell Island, across the Bay, is an uninhabited barrier island that can only be visited by boat.
