For most visitors, when they think of Arizona, they think of the Grand Canyon. Located entirely in northern Arizona, Grand Canyon National Park encompasses almost 300 miles of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. Over countless centuries the river has cut away the rock to create one of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world.  The Grand Canyon is unmatched in the incomparable vistas it offers to visitors as they look over the rim of the canyon. Grand Canyon National Park is a World Heritage Site.

Dining Suggestions

Black Canyon
Bylers Amish Kitchen
- If you are making the drive between Phoenix and Flagstaff, and it is meal time, get off the interstate at Black Canyon City and enjoy a meal at Bylers Amish Kitchen. They specialize in home cooking, and have pretty good baked goods. The restaurant is located on the east side of the business loop, and their number is 623.371.9330

Green Valley
La Placita Family Restaurant
For good and authentic Mexican food, be sure to stop by La Placita for a nice menu of Mexican favorites. Located at 99 West Esperanza Boulevard in Green Valley Mall. Phone: 520.625.2111.

Nogales
Zulas Restaurant
This is my favorite restaurant in Nogales. It is about the closest you can get to traditional food for the area, and the best place around for pies. George and Tita Papachoris are the owners and they do everything they can to make sure your meal - and your visit - are enjoyable. 982 North Grand Avenue, Nogales, AZ 85621. Phone: 520.287.2892.

Scottsdale
Rusty Spur Saloon
- Since 1951 this place has been famous and known for their hospitality and music, with live music performances four afternoons and six nights a week. The building was constructed in 1921 and housed the Farmer's State Bank of Scottsdale from 1921 until 1933. The bank vault remains in place and has been converted to a refrigerated unit for beverage storage. The building is a registered historic landmark. When you walk through the swinging doors you are taking a step back in time. The rusty Spur is an Old West saloon offering rustic charm, good food, live entertainment, and a full bar. The Rusty Spur is located at 7245 E. Main St. in Scottsdale near the corner of Brown and Main Streets in Old Town Scottsdale. 480.425.7787. www.rustyspursaloon.com.

Tucson
Click here to go to the Tucson page.

Tubac
Tubac has a variety of locally owned restaurants. One of my favorites is the Tubac Country Inn. Most are open for for both lunch and dinner.

De Anza Restaurante & Cantina
This interesting little place is about a block off of the main area of the town. They have a nice menu, and is an especially nice place to sit out on the patio and enjoy a leisurely lunch. Located at 14 Camino Otero in the Tubac Historic Zone. 520.398.0300. I highly recommend this place, Jim.

Just north of the old town on the access road is the Tubac Golf Resort. A great place for an enjoyable lunch is at the Stables Restaurant where you can sit and enjoy a leisurely lunch while watching the golfers finish their round on the interesting 18th hole which is surrounded by water. The restaurant is also open for breakfast and dinner. One Otero Road, 520.2211. www.tubacgolfresort.com

How do you get out of paying full price for your meal at a restaurant without having to scrub dishes? Simple, just buy Restaurant Dining Certificates. Locate a restaurant close to where you are, or where you plan to visit at Restaurant Locator.
