City and Destination Information
The following information is provided by the Tubac Chamber of Commerce. (www.tubacaz.com) Additional information can be found at Tubac Arizona.

Tubac was established in 1752 as a Spanish presidio (fort). Today it is a great little community of working artists who have studios that now surround the grounds which once served as the home for a Spanish military garrison. Tubac remembers its origins at the Tubac Presidio State Historic Park located in the village's Old Town, and no visit to Tubac is complete without a stop at the State Park.

Scenic high desert vistas surround Tubac, and the village enjoys a year-around economy that benefits from summer temperatures notably cooler that Tucson or Phoenix. You will love meandering through the streets of this old western town. There are numerous art galleries, working studios and gift shops. The Tubac Center of the Arts provides a full range of arts programming, and seasonal exhibitions should not be missed. A variety of locally owned restaurants (click here for restaurants) are open for for both lunch and dinner, and our marvelous bed & breakfasts (Click here for information on the Tubac Country Inn) mean that your visit to Tubac doesn't have to end when the shops close!

For additional information, contact the Tubac Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 1866 Tubac, AZ 85646. 520.398.2704. www.tubacaz.com. Another interesting site for information about Tubac, is www.tubacarizona.com.
