Things to See and Do in Mexico
Copper Canyon is actually a series of over 20 canyons running through the northern region of Mexico. The canyon covers over 20,000 square miles, four times larger than the Grand Canyon and is filled with outstanding scenery and wildlife.  Copper Canyon is inhabited by the Tarahumara Indians, a reclusive tribe which has chosen to live secluded from modern westernized culture.

The best time and place to board the train for a scenic journey through the heart of Copper Canyon is from Los Mochis at 7:00 A.M. central time. That way you can enjoy the view between El Fuerte and Creel during daylight hours.  You can weave through the canyons on two main train lines which offer tours along the Chihuahua-Pacifico rail line, the Chihuahua al Pacifico, and the more lavish tour of the South Orient Express.
