Gwydir Castle is situated in the beautiful Conwy Valley and is set within a Grade 1 listed, 10-acre garden. Built by the illustrious Wynn family c1500, Gwydir is a fine example of a Tudor courtyard house, incorporating re-used medieval material from the dissolved Abbey of Maenan. Further additions date from c1600 and c1826. The important 1640s panelled Dining Room has now been reinstated, following its repatriation from the New York Metropolitan Museum.

Manorbier Castle - Manorbier Castle was originally an 11th century fortified manor house, founded by Odo de Barri. In the 12th century, William de Barri, founded the stone castle, when adding a great square tower and a fine hall block. In the 13th century, the inner and outer wards were given curtain walls flanked by round and D-shaped towers. The inner ward is almost intact, with a gatehouse, the Great Hall, a chapel and battlements crowning the curtain wall. Sadly in the outer ward, there is only fragments of the curtain wall and a flanking tower. The castle, is the birthplace of Gerald of Wales, the great 12th century scholar. The unique house within the castle walls is available all year round. The house sleeps 10 - 12 with 4 bedrooms / 3 bedrooms (1 en suite) in the main house and benefits from the privacy of its own walled garden.
