From Britain you can take a bus to Northern Ireland, but there can sometimes be delays. Buses to Northern Ireland from Britain take either the Holyhead-Dublin or Fishguard/Pembroke-Rosslare ferry routes. Ferry service (The Ferry Terminal) is also available for travel to Northern Ireland. You should also check with Stena Sealink (01/204-7777) and Irish Ferries (01/661-0511).

Getting Around In
Northern Ireland
Probably the best way is by using a combination of train and bus. It is
also a great country for renting a car and doing it on your own. Buses are
cheap and there are so many of them going just about everywhere that you can

Air travel is not as popular in Northern Ireland as in some other countries. However, a recent increase in the development of regional airports may soon be changing that. Some of these regional airports also have flights from the United Kingdom making them arrival points.
If you plan to rent a car, and plan to visit both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, be sure to check with the rental agent as there may be some differences in insurance coverage. Most of the major car rental companies are there, but for local agencies, try Argus (01/490-4444 in Dublin) or Dan Dooley (1.800.331.9301). You might also be interested in ECL Chauffeur Drive (01/704-4062) which offers chauffeur-driven Mercedes sedans, minivans, and coaches.
