Located on a quite side street just a block from the Luxembourg Gardens. Try and get a room with a balcony that overlooks the street. If you get room #25 you can just get a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. Metro: Luxembourg.
Hotel Elysa-Luxembourg 30 Rooms - Inexpensive. (01-43-25-31-74, 6 rue
Gay-Lussac) This hotel has a nice location in the Latin Quarter in a 19th-century building near the Luxembourg Gardens. Although this hotel is not a gay hotel, it is "gay friendly." Metro: St-Michel or

L'Hotel 24 Rooms - Expensive. (01-43-25-27-22) The claim to fame, if you can say that, is that this was the hotel in which Oscar Wilde died, broke and in despair. Wonderful little hotel in a great location. Metro: St-Germain-des-Pres. Hotel D'Angleterre 27 Rooms - Moderate. (01-42-60-34-72) Almost a secret located in what was once the British Embassy. Bed and breakfast locations, although very popular throughout the United States and Britain, have not really caught on yet in Paris. However,
there are some (THE REGISTER - Bed & Breakfast Suggestions for France)
along with a lot good small hotels and inns throughout the city. What follows is not meant to be a recommendation but just a few ideas and suggestions. Visitors should research each entry to see if it might be a location they may be interested in staying. All hotels and inns were picked using the following criteria: safe and interesting locations, proximity to public transportation, city center location, and proximity to restaurants and shopping. No thought was given to price so prices may range from inexpensive to expensive. When possible I have placed this information in the description of the hotel or inn. Most of the inns and hotels have 30 rooms or less and all will give you a "feel" for the city as I have left out any locations that might be like staying in an American-style hotel.
