Air
There is good air service in the Czech Republic with Prague being linked to several other towns, including Ostrave in Moravia and Bratislava and Poprad in Slovakia.
However, because of the relatively small size of the country, for most people,
travel around the country is easier by rail or road. You can book directly with
Czech Airlines at 02.2010.4310.

Rail
In the Czech Republic,
you can easily travel by bus or train. Both are extremely inexpensive and
you will find average costs are hardly any more than 20 dollars to travel the
longest possible distance within the Czech Republic by 1st class
express train. And, by using a bus/train combination, you can get just
about anywhere you like. Check this web site, vlak-bus.cz,
where you can find a good database of train and bus schedules within the Czech
Republic.
The country has an extensive rail network with low fares and crowded trains. Most long-distance trains have dining cars and there are overnight trains between main centers with sleeping cars. You might have to pay a small supplement of EuroCity and InterCity trains.
For information on the Czech Flexipass and the European East Pass, visit the
Czech
Railways'
web site. It provides reliable, current information on train connections
within the Czech Republic, plus fares on domestic trains.
Another
database of train schedules both within and outside the Czech Republic can be
searched from Deutsche
Bahn's home page.
And, for info on booking international train connections,
go to Rail
Europe;
they also sell the
Czech
Flexipass and
the
European
East Pass.
Road
Driving is an excellent way to discover the
country at your own pace. Although there are not as many expressway-type
roads, and therefore the travel times are sometimes longer than you might expect,
there are plenty of well-maintained country roads with wonderful views of scenic
countryside. And anyway, this is one of the main reasons for touring by
car. For complete information on driving in the
Czech Republic,

You can just print it out and you will be on your way. The
Czech Autoclub
has an excellent page with all the necessary info for drivers, including
pictures of highway toll coupons, etc.
There is also a very good network of bus service that provides quicker service than most trains at somewhat higher prices. You will want to be sure to reserve your seat in advance when traveling by bus in the Czech Republic. Use the vlak-bus.cz
database to search for schedules.
You can also tour the county by auto as there are many good main roads. A permit is required to drive on expressways and other four-lane highways. They may be purchased at border crossings and in some service stations.
