The Prague-Vienna Greenways is a network of hiking trails (some over 100-years-old) between Prague and Vienna.  You can walk or bike between the historic towns and villages of the region, visit romantic castles, wonder at medieval churches and monasteries, discover old Jewish sites, all while enjoying some of the most picturesque countryside in Europe.

Culture
If any country is proud of its heritage and culture, it is The Czech Republic.  The Culture of the Czech Republic may just be one of the best reasons for visiting.  Music and theater are literally omnipresent, especially in Prague, where you can enjoy anything from street puppeteers along Charles Bridge to a sophisticated evening at one of three elegant opera houses (the National Theatre, the Estates’ Theatre, and the Prague State Opera).  Add to this the Laterna Magica with a special blend of genres including theater, dance, film and music which can only be seen in Prague!  Czech orchestras, such as the Czech Philharmonic, the Prague Symphony Orchestra/FOK, or the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, are also well known for outstanding quality and performances.

If you are Prague Spring Festival.   Check with one of the following ticket selling companies listed below:

Bohemia Ticket International, which is part of the Keith Prowse network, offers several ticket options to all major cultural events in Prague (opera, classical music, musicals, puppet theater), as well as a few out-of-Prague events, such as the program of the Cesky Krumlov International Music festival.
Global Tickets/Edwards and Edwards are based in New York and book most classical music events in Prague. No web site--just call 1-800-223-6108.
Ticketpro lists events and sells tickets, but usually no more than a month in advance.  And, for many events, they require you to call.  Beside classical music they offer rock and pop concerts, sports events.  You can also use them to book sightseeing tours and cruises in Prague.

To know what is going on in Prague, check one of the following: The Prague Information Service web site lists current monthly schedules of concerts, opera, theater, as well as exhibitions and other items.  And, the Prague Post's Night & Day section offers exhaustive listings of all cultural events taking place in Prague in the current week.

Festivals
The renowned Prague Spring International Music Festival, which has been taking place annually May 12th through June 3rd since 1946, is a must for scores of true music lovers as international classical music stars descend upon Prague.  In June, dance and music go together during the Tanec/Dance Praha festival.  The younger counterpart of the Prague Spring festival is the Prague Autumn International Music Festival, which takes place every September.  Other noteworthy events are the Cesky Krumlov International Music Festival and the Smetana's Litomysl Opera Festival in Litomysl.  And, if you are into film, you are probably familiar with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which happens annually in July.
