| Inn At Lathones - A local legend has
it that, in this part of Fife, lived a disfigured midget highwayman known as
'Wee Mad MacGregor.' After a successful 'outing,' he liked to enjoy himself
at a small inn in the village of Lathones. True or not, visit the Inn at
Lathones today and you will meet another colorful and interesting character
in the form of owner Nick White. The Whites came to Lathones in June 1997
and, recognizing the beauty of this neglected Inn, bought and renovated it.
Their aim was to create a friendly hostelry and a great place to go for good
food and wine. For, like the outlaw MacGregor, Nick knows a thing or two
about the finer things of life. At the heart of the Inn is the restaurant
whose creative menus are derived from excellent Scottish seafood, lamb and
local game. The Inn's white-washed buildings are in perfect harmony with the
lush green landscape of rolling hills beyond. The comfortable bedrooms are
simple yet tastefully furnished and, best of all, very accommodating on the
pocket! The Inn is the perfect touring base for visiting St Andrews and its
famous golf courses and the fishing villages along the Forth coast. For additional information about this hotel, or to make a

| Old Manor Hotel - This pleasant hotel is only
20 minutes from St Andrews itself, looking out on to the Lundin Links and
Leven Open qualifying golf courses. The Old Manor is a fine old country
house, situated in its own grounds with impressive views over Largo Bay. All
of the public rooms are comfortably furnished to provide an easy place to
relax. Many of the comfortable bedrooms have delightful sea views, several
with balconies; all are en suite. In the fine dining Aithernie Restaurant
(two AA rosettes) Chef Paul Stevens, who has won several awards in culinary
competition, and his team make imaginative use of local produce, game and
seafood. At the popular Coachman's Grill, Head Chef Roberta Drummond, runner
up in the Female Chef of the Year competition, offers fine char grilled
steaks and seafood in a less formal atmosphere with choice real ales and
over 100 malt whiskies. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the hotel's
complimentary booking service, where you can choose convenient tee times at
over 30 courses within an hour's drive. There is also a great deal for
non-golfers. St Andrews has beautiful beaches and Scotland's oldest
university. The surrounding area has plenty of leisure parks, museums,
castles, stately homes and gardens. A wonderful venue for a wedding
reception or a honeymoon.
