Casci (Firenze)

Your travel source with a personal
touch! |
The Hotel Casci is very easy to find and easy to walk to from the Central
Railroad Station. With the train tracks to your back, leave the station
through the exit to your left. In front of you is a line of trees.
Walk to your right and you will see a stairway that leads under the large Piazza
della Stazione. This tunnel has several shops and you may be tempted to
wander a bit while you are underground. However, keep walking straight
ahead to the stairs at the other end and take them back up to street level.
You should now see the station behind you across the piazza. Walk straight
ahead a few steps and you will see you are near the intersection of Via Avelli
and Via Panzani. (Look for the street names on small signs at the corners
of the buildings.) Cross over the street to your left (at an angle) to Via
Panzani and follow it about two short blocks to Via Cerretani. You will
know you are at the right corner as Via Banchi will be off to your right while
Via Cerretani will lead of at an angle again to your left. Follow this to
Piazza del Duomo. You can't miss this ass the beautiful cathedral will be
right in front of you.
Just to your left, between the Baptistry with Ghiberti's Bronze Doors and the Cathedral,
you will see where the traffic flow turns to the left onto Via Martelli.
You will know you are at the right spot as this is where the pedestrian only
area of the Duomo begins.
Walk along Via Martelli (walking on the left-hand side of the street) a block as
it will be come Via Cavour. The Hotel Casci is just a few doors along at
Via Cavour 13. Be sure to watch for the sign as it is a rather small sign
and the actual entrance to the hotel is located on the 2nd floor and not at
street level. To reach reception, take the elevator to the 2nd floor and
the entrance to the hotel is just ahead of you as you exit the elevator.
