Hotel Casci (Firenze)

Your travel source with a personal touch!

The Hotel Casci is a wonderful, friendly place to stay just a short walk from the Piazza del Duomo where the Cathedral of Santa Maria Del Fiore, simply called "The Duomo," is located.  This wonderful, city center location makes all of the city yours to enjoy with short walks from your hotel.  Because of the wonderful location -- only 150 yards from Florence Cathedral and 500 yards from the Railway station and close to all of the museums and monuments -- you do not need a car when you visit here. However, if you do drive to Florence, there is a convent garage only 200 yards away.

This small, family-operated hotel is part of a 15th-century palazzo and even boasts some original fresco ceilings.  The building was once the house and property of the famous musician G.Rossini in the past century.  The hotel is managed by the Lombardi family, Armando, Carla and Paolo, who are fluent in several languages and take personal care of their guests.  They will be happy to help you in any way they can so your stay at their hotel, and in Florence, will be an enjoyable experience you will always remember.

All of the rooms are quiet and have private facilities, air conditioning, direct dialing telephone, radio, color TV (CNN and MTV), towel warmers, and hairdryer.  Some of the rooms look out over a wonderful magnolia tree and the rooms at the rear of the hotel may be the preferred rooms.  However, because of the double-paned windows, even the rooms fronting the street are quiet and enjoyable. Buffet breakfast is served in a frescoed room.  Each of the rooms is nicely furnished with a comfortable ambiance and you will enjoy a relaxing stay here.

An ample buffet breakfast is served in the breakfast room each morning and is included in the price of your room.  There is also a small lounge where you can sit and relax, and enjoy some interesting and stimulating conversation with Paolo, while you unwind from your day of wandering and "wondering" around this beautiful city.

Getting to the Hotel Casci is very easy and is only a short walk of about 5000 yards from the Central Railroad Station.  If you do not have very much luggage, or have only a carry on piece of luggage, you may just want to walk.  And, even with a rolling suitcase, the walk is not too bad.  If you would rather not walk, just take a taxi giving them the address of the hotel.  It should only take about 5 or 10 minutes at the most to get there by taxi.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Casci and I am sure you will also. For additional information, or to book reservations, just contact Jim at Getting Away. mailto:jimbruner@gettingaway.com
