Hungary

Your travel source with a personal touch!

The government is working hard to bolster the tourist trade and offers tourists a good vacation value. Among Hungary's diverse tourist attractions are Turkish and Roman ruins, medieval towns and castles, more than 500 thermal springs (some of which have resort facilities), and Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Europe.

Following is an excerpt on Budapest taken from the book Romantic Weekends in Europe, written by Allison Umbricht.
"With Budapest’s Castle District illuminated at night, and the bridges and water below, you will think you are in a fairytale. Budapest is comprised of Buda and Pest, different cities separated by the Danube River and several stunning bridges. Buda is a residential area and includes the stunning Castle District. Most of the landmarks and shopping areas are in the commercial city of Pest. One either side, relaxation reigns in the Spa Capital of the World.”
