The government is working hard to bolster the tourist trade and offers tourists
a good vacation value. Among Hungary's diverse tourist attractions are Turkish and Roman
ruins, medieval towns and castles, more than 500 thermal springs (some of which have resort
facilities), and Lake Balaton, the largest freshwater lake in Europe.

| Following is an excerpt on Budapest taken
from the book
Romantic Weekends in Europe "With Budapest’s Castle District illuminated at night, and the bridges and water below, you will think you are in a fairytale. Budapest is comprised of Buda and Pest, different cities separated by the Danube River and several stunning bridges. Buda is a residential area and includes the stunning Castle District. Most of the landmarks and shopping areas are in the commercial city of Pest. One either side, relaxation reigns in the Spa Capital of the World.” Find out more about Budapest and many other great European cities including Salzburg, Amsterdam, London, Copenhagen, Paris, Madrid, Venice, Lucerne and Vienna (just to name a few) in her book Romantic Weekends in Europe. Museums
Most museums are open from 10 am to 6 pm, and closed on Mondays. Last admission is
usually 30 minutes before closing. The large museums have foreign language guides and their
shops carry foreign language publications. Most museums accept the Budapest Card for free
entry. "Museums in Budapest" is the best museum guide. For information regarding
museums in other cities, the local tourist office
should be contacted.

In the heart of the most central European capital, Budapest, a new hotel
has been born which drinks from the fountains of tradition and
innovation. The Eurostars Budapest Center has its roots
in the traditions of the old Roman city of Aquincum, of the ancient
Magyar people and the greatness of the mighty Austro-Hungarian Empire;
and in the innovation of present-day Hungary, a society which has found
the way to position itself with mastery in this era of globalization:
nowadays, this country is a top-rating tourist destination, and as a
member of the European Union it attracts much business activity. The Eurostars Budapest Center is a splendid luxury establishment, which was once a huge construction built in the Soviet era. But you will not even be aware of this because the building has undergone a transformation of such caliber that it now radiates innovation, modernity and comfort from every point of the compass. Come and try it for yourself! A large number of the hotel rooms look out onto the spacious interior patio, which provides a relaxing space in which to rest from the days work or from sight-seeing trips around the city. The new Eurostars Budapest Center is a luxury venue where one can enjoy a series of treats: solarium, sauna, gym, library and, at our restaurant, the best in international and Hungarian cuisine. At the Eurostars Budapest Center we will do all we can for you but, please don't ask us to make the Danube blue again! |
