The Pateniemi Sawmill Museum, The Vehicle Museum and the technology village (Technopolis) are places where the historical as well as cultural artifacts can be seen. The city also offers many festivals and shows throughout the year including the Oulu Music Video Festival, Air Guitar World Championships, Qstock Rock Festival, Oulu City Theatre, Oulu Children's Theatre Festival, The Oulu Horse Show, The American Car Show and The Winter Swimming World Championship are some of them.

Tampere

Map of Finland

Helsinki
Not only is this the largest city in Finland, it is also the capital of Finland. The city was considered an international gateway when it was founded in 1550 by King Gustav I of Sweden. The city is the country's nerve center for business, finance, fashion, medicine, entertainment, media, culture and intellectual discourse. Helsinki was attacked by Soviet bombers in the aerial bombings of the Winter War in 1939-40 and the Continuation War in 1941-44. The Helsinki metropolitan is one of the fastest growing urban centers in the European Union.

Helsinki has several interesting points of interest, and several interesting buildings including the neo-classical buildings that make the city unique like the Kremlin Letter, Reds and Gorky Park. It also has many museums like National Museum of Finland,  the Helsinki City Museum, University Museum and the Natural History Museum.

Many of the city's major attractions are related to the sea. Suomenlinna sea-fortress and Seurasaari Island with its parks and open-air museum lure the visitors positively. Hietaniemi Beach, main beach in the district of Töölö is another tourist destination.

Some Suggestions For Dining In Finland
Dining options in Finland are numerous and varied, ranging from Finnish to international cuisines. One of the best suggestions would be, upon arrival in Helsinki, for you to pick up "Helsinki This Week," which gives a listing of all area establishments.  You will find a fine selection of restaurants including Chinese and Italian restaurants along with several French, Indian, Irish, Japanese, and Mediterranean. You will also find that Mexican, Nepales, Spanish and Thai restaurants are very popular in Helsinki. The American visitors can enjoy a taste of home in familiar places like Planet Hollywood, Pizza Hut, and McDonalds.

For entertainment at night you can chose from a big variety: the only international casino in Finland, Casino Ray at the Ramada Presidentti Hotel, billiards at the Corona Bar, Jazz at Storyville, Ballroom dancing at Maestro, along with popular night spots like Helsinki Club, Hesperia Night Club and the 10th floor restaurants (Vaakuna) and Copacabana Salsa Club.
