Getting Around By Car
Although Denmark is a land of islands, you will find the bridges and ferries make is quite easy to get around by car. Prices for car ferries are reasonable. Car rental companies may be found in most Danish cities at at the airports. Two you may want to check into would be Auto Europe and Icelandair. If you rent your car on mainland Europe, the toll for a one way journey on the bridge across the Great Belt is about $30, and the price includes 5 passengers.

The roads are quite good with most of the roads being paved, even in the countryside. Road signs are easy to read. Seat belts must be used by driver and all passengers. Children must be strapped with some type of safety device. headlights are obligatory day and night.

A North American license is valid in Denmark, but you have to be 18 years or older. The penalties for diving a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol are very severe, and no exceptions are made for foreign visitors.
