Entry Requirements
Although is the preferred identification, a passport is not required
for entry into Canada. Just make sure you carry identification to
establish your citizenship such as a Birth Certificate and least one
ID card with photo. If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen, you should
carry this certificate. Permanent residents of the U.S.A. must bring
their "Green Card".
Visitor Requirements: Travelers from Europe
European passport holders do not require a visa to visit Canada. All
that is needed is a valid passport, a return ticket and sufficient
funds for your stay in Canada. European visitors to Canada who wish to
also visit the United States must possess valid passports to be
admitted; residents of Portugal are further required to have a visa.

Currency
Exchange - Get your currency needs managed in advance! Many airports,
railroad stations, bus depots, and other points of entry have no currency
exchange. When currency exchange is available in airports, lines can be long and
rates can be "sky high". These long waits and usurious fees can be a
nightmare. Order in advance from
All
Foreign Currency right online. It's fast, easy, and you save time and
money! The can also provide you with Travelers' checks, bank drafts, and
transfers. U.S. dollars are not accepted everywhere and rates can be atrocious!

Travel
Etiquette
Behavior and customs vary greatly from country to country. We
discuss the correct travel etiquette so that you won't be caught out.
TravelEtiquette was formed to offer a unique reference
point on essential etiquette advice and information for worldwide
travel. Our features and articles are written by professional
journalists and experts - who have a particular interest, or a
background in this area. So – know before you go. Visit
TravelEtiquette so you will know how to, as the old adage states, “When in Rome,
do as the Romans do.”
Weather
The climate of
Canada varies widely. The southernmost part of Canada, Point Pelee, is
on the same latitude as northern California, while the Canadian
northland extends deep into the Arctic. Contact one of the tourism
offices for more detailed information on the climate of the area you
are planning to visit, or check the latest weather
update for Canada. And , for world-wide weather forecasts and current
conditions, always check TulipsWeather.com.
Money Matters
The currency system in Canada uses dollars and cents similar to the
U.S. system. It
is always best to change your money at a recognized financial
institution, bank, trust company or currency exchange. Stores, hotels
and restaurants will also exchange currency but the rate will not be
as good. I find it is normally best to convert some of your
money prior to leaving home so you will have some of the local currency
in pocket when you arrive.
So, although American money is usually accepted in Canada,
visitors should exchange their funds (or travelers' checks) for
Canadian dollars at any Canadian financial institution, bank, trust
company, credit union, co-operative, caisse populaire or exchange booth
at airports and border crossing points to receive the prevailing rate of
exchange. Less favorable rates of exchange may be given by commercial
establishments. Use Canadian money while traveling in Canada to avoid
exchange problems.
