Bus Travel
Inter-city buses are economical and comfortable, with air
conditioning, on-board toilers and lots of leg and head room. Motor
coaches offer the added advantage of downtown-to-downtown
service. Greyhound
is the largest carrier in Canada. However, there are also regional
carriers in each of the Provinces.
Car Rental
All of the major car rental companies have offices in
Canada. Major car rental companies are found at airports
and in towns and cities across the country. Rates vary depending on
the season, type of vehicle and length of rental. You must be at
least 21 (or 25 in some cases) and possess a major credit card.
Camper and motor home rentals are also widely available, but should
be reserved well ahead of time for the peak summer season.
Drivers from outside North America are advised to apply for an
International Driving Permit from the automobile association in
their country of origin which will allow them to drive in Canada.
This will usually be required in order to rent a car.
