Adventures for Singles (www.adventuresforsingles.com) Although AFS isn't a big company, they have been making great progress in the field of single and solo travel. Hamptons Connection Tours offers some great tours that are geared for singles and adults. The tour company is owned and operated by Elise Goodheart, a New York City transplant who moved full-time to the Hamptons 15 years ago.  Leaving a career in public relations and marketing in New York City, Goodheart ran a well respected Fine Arts and Events Planning company in Sag Harbor.  It is with her extensive knowledge of all the best this area has to offer that she has created all-inclusive tour packages that provides not only a window into how the other half lives in the “happening Hamptons,” but allows her clientele to turn this famously beautiful resort into their very own playground and sanctuary. If you would like additional information, or make reservations for a tour, just contact Jim. mailto:jimbruner@gettingaway.com

Atlanta Travel and Social Club (www.atlantatravelandsocial.com) The Atlanta Travel & Social Club is an internet based club consisting of quality individuals in the Atlanta Area who desire to make new friends, meet other people with common interests, and to participate in group organized social, sporting and travel events, that are not only great fun, but also a great value. To get maximum benefit from the club, you need to have internet access and an e-mail address, as most Club communications will be done via e-mail and through the Club's website. This will ensure prompt reliable delivery of all information and will keep ATSC's costs to a minimum. (NOTE: As most of my regular visitors already know, I live in the Atlanta area and although this is a club for folks in the Atlanta area, you should check in the area where you live for similar clubs. Jim)

O Solo Mio (www.osolomio.com) O Solo Mio is a group of friendly single individuals who enjoy traveling. They are not a dating service -- just a bunch of folks whose main objective is to travel and enjoy it! They match you with a roommate to help you avoid paying the single supplement fee or, for an additional cost, you may have your own room. To find out more you can call (1.800.959.8568) or visit their web site. www.osolomio.com

Traveling Solo : Advice and Ideas for More Than 250 Vacations
Two may be company, but sometimes one is all you need for the road. Consider the benefits of solo travel: nobody to please but yourself, and no hassling over where to go, what to do, or how much to spend. In Traveling Solo, Eleanor Berman not only extols the virtues of a trip of one's own, but she also gives you plenty of advice on how to plan the perfect solo vacation.

Travel Alone & Love It
Having traveled extensively for 26 years as a flight attendant, Wingler brings her experiences and insights to this unusual travel guide. Though much of it deals informatively with topics found in most travel guides (tips on travel planning, flight protocol, jet lag, etc.), the sections that set it apart from the mainstream guides are those that address the concept of traveling alone. Wingler convincingly argues that solo travel provides increased opportunities to meet and interact with people of another culture one-on-one, thus providing a much more memorable travel experience. In addition to attempting to inspire people to travel alone, she also offers ways of overcoming the fear of doing so
