One of the worst things that can happen to you have planned for months for that "perfect trip," is to become ill and not be able to enjoy yourself. Here are several tips to help you stay healthy and have a good time while you are away from home along with some ideas for you if you do become ill. Here is a check-off sheet of things to think about when you are planning your trip and while you are traveling:
1. Before you leave – You should see your doctor
2. Prescriptions – Take copies of any prescriptions you are taking with you.
3. Medical Records – If you have a physical illness, carry a printed medical history with you at all times.

Travelers with Disabilities...There are several places in Europe where some travelers with disabilities will have a difficult time – especially if confined to a wheel chair or if they simply have difficulty walking as may of the streets, sidewalks, and walk ways are very uneven in some places. Here are a few places you can get information that may be helpful to you if you have a disability.

Directions Unlimited, (720 North Bedford Road, Bedford Hills, NY 10507 – 1-800-533-5343) operates tours to Europe for disabled travelers, including tours for individuals who are blind.

Mobility International USA, or MIUSA, (P.O. Box 10767, Eugene, OR 97440 – 541/343-1284) is a national organization (non-profit) that promotes international educational exchange and travel for persons with and without disabilities. Mobility International USA

Travel Information Service (215/456-9603) offers information, much from firsthand reports, on the accessibility of hotels, restaurants, and attractions in many foreign countries. It is a part of the MossRehab Hospital in Philadelphia, a center for treatment of the physically disabled.
