There are several places in Europe where some travelers with disabilities will have a difficult time
– especially if confined to a wheel chair or if they simply have difficulty walking as may of the streets,
sidewalks, and walk ways are very uneven in some places. Here are a few places you can get
information that may be helpful to you if you have a disability.

Guide for the Wheelchair Traveler - Book Description: Step-by-step guide for planning that "Perfect" vacation.
Accessible information on air travel, cruises, ground transportation,
selecting the right hotel, what questions to ask, solutions to problems
that may arise and accessibility to many wonderful destinations in the
United States and Mexico.
About the Author: Patricia Smither was born and raised in California. She married
Neal, a quadriplegic and learned the difficulty of planning a vacation
when traveling in a wheelchair. She and her husband formed a nonprofit
corporation, Access for Disabled Americans to help ease some of the many
problems people with disabilities must face in their everyday life. They
devote their time to helping others.

Travel Information Service (215/456-9603) offers information, much from firsthand reports,
on the accessibility of hotels, restaurants, and attractions in many foreign countries. It is a part of the
MossRehab Hospital in Philadelphia, a center for treatment of the physically disabled.
