One of the things I like to do is read-up on the destination to which I intend to travel. I normally use Fodor's guides as I find them very informative and easy to read and understand. Click on either Barnes and Noble or Amazon logos and search for the perfect book for your travel needs. If you cannot find what you are looking for at Barnes and Noble or Amazon, click on the Getting Away Travel Bookshelf to find some of my favorites! And, if you can't find the book or map you need -- Contact Jim! What follows is an alphabetized listing of travel books
recommended by Jim.
A
Cold Beer and Crocodiles: A Bicycle Journey Into Australia It's not every day that a fellow decides to pack in a good job, pack up his saddlebags, and set off by bicycle to make a circumferential journey around Australia. In 1996, that's just what American-born Time magazine correspondent Roff Martin Smith did and you can read all about it in his interesting book. B
